Historical Preservation Project: Special Guest Speaker

  • Assumption of the Theotokos 4610 East Alameda Avenue Denver, CO, 80246 United States (map)

HPP is pleased to invite you to an enlightening evening featuring Dr. Katherine (Katie) Kelaidis, daughter of Toni Kelaidis and the granddaughter of the late George and Katherine Kelaidis of our Cathedral family. With a Ph.D. in Classics from the University of London and an undergraduate degree from Berkeley,

Katie is a Classics scholar and nationally recognized speaker. She is the Director of Research and Content at the National Hellenic Museum in Chicago.

Dr. Kelaidis will discuss the translation of the first Greek (Septuagint) Old Testament from the original Hebrew Bible and the translation of the old Greek Bible into modern Greek. Her entertaining presentation is based on the complicated and fascinating history the Holy Bible has undergone from ancient to relatively modern times. This is an evening you and your family won’t want to miss!

Mezethes, wine and dessert will be served. Donations are welcome.

RSVP to Elaine at 303-881-4780 by February 5, 2024. Leave message with name and number of guests.
